Digital Discovery 2031
A Vision for a More Curious, Creative, and Connected World

A New Era of Exploration
Digital discovery is entering a transformational decade. For years, our experience of the internet has been shaped- and often limited - by algorithms, recommendation engines, and systems designed to keep us inside familiar loops.

These systems are powerful, but they rarely ask the most important questions:
-
What do you want to feel right now?
-
What kind of energy do you want to bring into your life today?
-
What would you love to explore if you didn’t feel constrained by location, labels, or expectations?
Digital Discovery 2031 is The Changing Booth’s long-term vision to shift how people discover experiences online.

Our goal is simple but ambitious:
To make discovery a universal practice - one that is mindset-driven, borderless, and available to everyone.
This page describes how we intend to evolve over the next six years, guided by a few core ideas:
Experiences should not depend on where you live.
You are more than your data, your past clicks, or your personality type.
Discovery can be gentle, playful, profound, or challenging - but it should always be chosen, not imposed.
Everything starts from this belief:
Discovery should be shaped by who you want to become, not who a system has decided you already are.
01. The Philosophy of Mindset-Based Discovery
For a long time, discovery - both online and offline - has been framed by:
-
Geography (“what’s near me”)
-
Demographics (“people like you also liked…”)
-
Past behavior (“because you watched…”)
These approaches can be convenient, but they tend to narrow the world. They point us toward more of the same and reinforce what is already known.

The Changing Booth exists to challenge that.

What is mindset-based discovery?
Instead of asking “Who are you?”, we start with:
-
How do you want to feel today?
-
Do you want to stretch your comfort zone, or seek softness and calm?
-
Are you craving connection, creativity, focus, or play?
-
Do you want to learn, to experiment, to rest, or to be delighted?
Mindset-based discovery is about exploring from your current state of mind and desired emotional landscape, rather than from a fixed identity.

It recognises that:
-
You can be different people on different days.
-
You are allowed to want new things.
-
Your curiosity is not a fixed attribute; it’s a dynamic, living process.
This philosophy sits at the core of Digital Discovery 2031.
02. Discovery Without Borders
Many discovery platforms are built around physical proximity:
“things to do near me,” “events in your city,” “local activities this weekend.”

Those can be valuable—but they are incomplete.

In a connected world, many of the richest experiences are not bound by geography. The Changing Booth intentionally focuses on discovering:
-
Virtual experiences
-
Online activities and games
-
Live-streamed and hybrid events
-
Online classes and workshops
-
Creative challenges and experiments
-
Virtual museum tours and cultural spaces
-
Immersive and interactive digital worlds
Whether you live in a major city or a small town, whether you travel often or rarely, your access to experiences should not depend on your postcode.

Our guiding principle here is:
If it can be experienced digitally, it can be discovered.
By 2031, we aim for The Changing Booth to be a trusted entry point into a wide universe of activities that can be accessed from anywhere with a connection - expanding what “things to do” really means.
03. Core Principles of
Digital Discovery 2031
Digital Discovery 2031 is anchored in five core principles. These principles shape our product decisions, partnerships, and the experiences we choose to highlight.

1. Mindset Over Metrics
We prioritise how people feel and what they want to invite into their lives, rather than:
-
Demographics
-
Personality labels
-
Behavioural profiling
-
Data-driven assumptions
We design prompts and pathways that help people tune into:
-
their current emotional state
-
their available energy
-
their desired direction of growth
The question is never:
“what should someone like you do?”
It is always:
“given who you are today, what kind of experience might serve you right now?”

2. Borderless Access
We intentionally centre experiences that:
-
Can be joined from anywhere
-
Do not require living in a specific city or country
-
Are accessible to people with differing schedules, abilities, and resources
Where other platforms might focus first on local logistics, we focus first on possibility:
-
What can you try?
-
What can this unlock in you?
-
How might this help you see the world differently?

3. Intentional Exploration
Digital discovery can be loud, fast, and overwhelming.
The Changing Booth takes a different path.
We emphasise:
-
Small, doable experiments (tiny steps toward something new)
-
Themed journeys (e.g., a week of curiosity, a month of courage)
-
Gentle prompts that invite reflection and exploration
-
Playful challenges that nudge people to try something different, on their own terms
We want discovery to feel like an invitation, not a demand.

4. Human-Led Discovery, Supported by Technology
We will use technology thoughtfully, but we do not believe algorithms should define people.

As we introduce AI-assisted features (planned in 2026 and beyond), they will:
-
Support mindset-based exploration
-
Offer suggestions as prompts, not prescriptions
-
Avoid opaque “black box” profiling
-
Respect user agency and choice
In other words:
AI can help expand your options, but it does not get to decide who you are.

5. Accessibility & Inclusivity
Discovery should be as accessible as possible, across:
-
Financial realities
-
Time constraints
-
Physical and cognitive abilities
-
Energy levels
-
Emotional bandwidth
We recognise that not everyone wants high-intensity experiences. Sometimes the most powerful discoveries are quiet:
-
A reflective journaling ritual
-
A slow museum tour from your sofa
-
A gentle creative exercise
-
A low-pressure online workshop
Digital Discovery 2031 commits to curating a spectrum of experiences - from playful and bold to calm and restorative.
04. The 2031 Development Path
2025–2026
Strengthening the Discovery Core
Focus:
-
Expanding curated collections of digital experiences, virtual events, and online activities
-
Organising experiences into mindset-led pathways (e.g., “I want to feel creative,” “I want to feel grounded,” “I want to feel brave”)
-
Creating recurring categories and themes:
-
Creativity
-
Curiosity
-
Connection
-
Calm
-
Bravery
-
Joy
-
-
Launching monthly “Try New Things” journeys people can follow at their own pace
-
Adding more reflective prompts to help people integrate what they discover
OUTCOME:
A deeper, more intentional version of The Changing Booth’s current platform, with clearer navigation, stronger editorial curation, and mindset-led journeys.

2026–2027
AI-Assisted Mindset Guidance
(Optional, User-Controlled)
In this phase, we will introduce AI-assisted features in a carefully designed way.

Key principles:
-
Participation will be optional and clearly explained
-
No personality typing, demographic profiling, or hidden segmentation
-
No behavioural tracking beyond what users explicitly agree to share
AI will be used to:
-
Suggest experiences based on a user’s chosen mindset (“I want to feel playful today”)
-
Offer fresh ideas when someone feels stuck or uninspired
-
Generate adaptable “micro-journeys” (“3 small discoveries for a low-energy day”)
-
Help people gently branch into adjacent areas of curiosity
OUTCOME:
Technology as a supportive guide - widening the field of possibilities, not narrowing it.
2
2027–2029
Expanding the Universes of Discovery
During this period, we aim to grow both the depth and breadth of experiences available through The Changing Booth.

Developments include:
Experience Universes
-
Creative and artistic digital experiences
-
Interactive story-driven journeys
-
Collaborative challenges with other explorers
-
Global digital cultural events and festivals
-
A wider variety of virtual and hybrid experiences

2029–2031
Discovery as a Lifelong Practice
By 2031, we want discovery to be recognised as a valuable, ongoing practice - much like exercise, mindfulness, or learning.

Key directions:
-
Tools that help people weave discovery into daily or weekly life
-
Seasonal and annual “Discovery Cycles” people can return to
-
Cross-cultural digital experiences that connect people across borders
-
Deeper reflective support to help people make meaning from what they try
-
Shared spaces (digital, possibly hybrid) that celebrate curiosity and exploration
OUTCOME:
The Changing Booth becomes not just a place you visit when you’re bored, but a quiet companion in your ongoing relationship with change, growth, and possibility.
05. What Makes The Changing Booth Different
There are many recommendation engines.
There are many booking platforms.
There are many lists of “things to do.”

The Changing Booth is different in a few important ways.

We do not believe in:
-
Algorithmic determinism
-
“People like you also liked…” as a core philosophy
-
Personality-based pigeonholing
-
Location as a prerequisite for meaningful experiences
-
Endless scrolling for the sake of engagement
We do believe in:
-
Mindset and intention
-
Accessible, borderless experiences
-
Playful experimentation
-
Small, manageable steps toward change
-
Discovery as a way of caring for yourself
-
Technology that expands, rather than shrinks, your view of the world
Digital Discovery 2031 is our commitment to building and curating in line with these beliefs.
06. A Closing Invitation

To everyone who has ever felt stuck in a loop, bored by the usual options, held back by location, or defined by an algorithm;

The Changing Booth is our way of saying:
There is more available to you than you’ve been shown so far.

You do not need to become a different person to try something new.
You do not have to change your life to try something new.
You only need one small opening in your day, and a willingness to explore from where you are.
You only have to change your moment.

Digital Discovery 2031 is our promise to keep building toward a world where those moments are easier to find, and easier to choose.
We invite you to discover with us.
